Definition

All information collected by government agencies are to be made available to the general public.
Concept

The rights to Information Act, gives legal basis to the right to information and requires all government agencies to release information upon request by the public. The rights to Information Act also establishes a complaint mechanism if agencies do not release information to the general public upon request under the RTI Act.
